Define the purpose of each area
Record the activity to observe: vehicle entry, loading or access to a particular room. Axis distinguishes general observation from detail at a defined capture point. A wide view does not automatically meet every purpose. Identify the operating decision that the recording must support.
Record conditions that change the design
Prepare a shareable layout marking important areas, obstructions, light sources, elevated work and possible cable routes. Photographs help orientation but do not replace a survey where distances or access are unclear. Do not circulate images containing identities or sensitive process information.
Include the whole system chain
Record existing equipment, networking, power, recorder space, recording users and storage needs. The system owner defines access rights and change approval. Distinguish customer-owned equipment from new supply to prevent overlapping quotation scopes.
Turn survey findings into a quotation
Useful findings identify points and purposes, routes, retained equipment, supporting work, tests and exclusions. For Jakarta sites, discuss building access and office or warehouse operations early. The 2012 Axis document is used as a survey framework, not as a current product specification.
A practical record for each camera position
Use six fields per point: area; activity to observe; daytime and nighttime conditions; cable route and mounting; retained equipment; and how the result will be checked. For example, observing loading activity is a separate requirement from seeing detail at a particular doorway. This example does not determine camera quantities or identification performance.
