Observations before guesses

Record affected devices or areas, start time, repetition and services that still work. Distinguish a missing display from missing recordings. Indicator photographs or error messages can help if they contain no sensitive information; do not submit credentials through a public page.

Check what changed beforehand

Record outages, cable moves, added devices, configuration changes and recent upgrades. Cisco's PoE reference highlights power budgets for the relevant platform, while survey guidance describes radio factors. These guide investigation; they do not prove that a site's fault is caused by power or interference.

Approval before intervention

Initial diagnosis should not erase configurations or recordings. Resets, upgrades and replacements follow owner approval of impact, available backups and recovery steps. Record authorization and the work window. A production system is not a place to try unplanned settings.

Close with a retest

Separate symptoms, checks, actions, changed components and retest results in the report. Keep unresolved issues as follow-up rather than marking the whole system normal. For Jakarta work, share access windows and operational impact when requesting a visit; response times follow the service agreement.

Use observed symptoms. Leave unknown fields blank and exclude passwords, user data and full configurations.

When a site visit may be needed

A visit can be discussed when distance, routes, power, radio conditions or installation cannot be established from the initial information. GTI confirms scope, access and timing before intervention. Remote checks do not automatically establish cable condition, camera placement or full WiFi coverage.
